Read on to find out about our history and how we became who we are today! In a general meeting of the Bangladesh Hindu-Association of Quebec, Montreal on December 25, 2005, a special committee was formed to establish a temple for the worship of God by the followers of Sanatan Dharma (Hinduism). Later the committee decided to incorporate a not-for-profit corporation for the purpose and named it as ‘SANATAN DHARMA TEMPLE – LE TEMPLE DE SANATAN RELIGION’. It was incorporated on April 2, 2007. On August 2, 2013, a building was purchased at 6219-6225 Boul Monk, Montreal, Quebec to house the Temple with generous contributions from the members of the Temple. The grand inauguration of the Temple was done on March 9, 2014, with the ceremonious celebration of the vivification(Pran pratishtha) of the images/idols of the deities. With religion in our lives, we can come together as a community based on shared values and beliefs. As a guiding force in our lives, it provides us a leeway into spirituality, devotion, and love- be it for a divine force and for others. This devotion that comes as a result of religion is shared amongst our community, creating a powerful element in our connection through all these years. God’s Temple was established at the will of Him and we, all the devotees, are grateful to Him. Let God bless us all. We encourage you to explore our new website and take note of the updated information regarding our temple.
We are open every day from 9 am to 3 pm (opening hours may vary depending on the events or special religious days or government holidays)
